History of the university

Ferghana branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al -Khwarazmi was established in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from June 2, 2005 PP-91 “On improvement of the system of training specialists in the field of information technologies” and the Order No. 130 of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan on June 14, 2005.

Since December 18, 2022, the branch is led by Mukhtarov Farrukh Muhammadovich, Technical Sciences Candidate (PhD), who holds the position of director of FBTUIT.

Ferghana branch of Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarazmi has three faculties, correspondence department, and nine departments, with a total of 124 professors and teachers. Among them, two are Doctors of Sciences (DSc) and professors, and 48 are Candidates of Sciences (PhD) and docents, making up 40.3% of the total scientific potential.

Currently, the branch provides education in various study programs and forms. In the daytime form of education, there are 2,279 undergraduate students, in the correspondence form – 1,658 students, in the distance learning form – 299 students, and 41 students are studying master’s degrees, making a total of 4,277 bachelor’s and master’s degree students.
